Chilly Willie! 47F - Double tees watch cap under my helmet, bandana around my neck.... hands a little cold. Did the mirror commute again, it was quit satisfactory; I'm learning where the pot holes and caverns are by braille!

Was 55F with a misty rain this morning. The road looked slick but happily I did not have to find out the hard way if it was! I did forget to turn on my tail lamp!!! Another commuter bike passed me on Edgewood at Piedmont Ave. I noticed that his lamp was really weak.... That's when the light over my head came on! I looked and sure enough it was off. Short ride - cool and wet. I think I'll be Okay down to 50 without anything on my hands. Bandanna and neckerchief worked perfectly! I changed the route to mirror the afternoon commute.. Marietta Street is a little rough on the north side and poorly lit, but fast!

Lake Ave is still closed due the city working on the sewer.... again!! Very warm this morning, for double tees anyhow! Mid sixties and damp, the air was as clean as I can remember it ever being. Nice ride thru town - fast descent of West Peachtree - I arrived on the veranda at 6:20.

At home today, I finished putting the Trek back together and trued up the wheels on Blue discovering in the process that I have two broken spokes! One more and I'll have to take it out of service until I can find new spokes or perhaps a used set of 27 inch wheels - which is probably cheeper that buying new spokes at $20 per wheel!

55 this morning... My hands were cold! I tried the bandana this morning and it worked good... kept my bare pate toasty! I might try one on my neck when the temp drops into the low 40s.

An early ride - I really wanted to stay home today. By 5 points I felt Okay. Missed all of the lights on West Peachtree - probably because I'm only using the six speeds with the smaller of the two front cogs. I did miss all but one pot hole, a possible record (at least for me!)

Getting cooler... Double tees were just right for the mid 50s. Chilly at first by the time reached Ltl 5 points I was quite comfortable. The longer ride took 40 minutes.

Monday

Cool and dry, it was in the high 50s this morning. Nice ride but my knees are paining a bit. I tried to adjust the derailleurs last night and found out I'm probably not smart enough to be a bicycle mechanic! Guess I limp home (ha! something I'm good at!) and try again.. Today I'll start adding about half a mile to the home route. New road is east to the car barn on Edgewood then back west to Euclid then continue on the old route. Bike lane both ways!
